[Gently insistent - but it's not like it's a lie! Atsushi feeds the cub several times a day, and he doesn't mind doing it, but it'll be more unique for Aoi. Presuming the guy wants to, of course! But Atsushi thinks he'd enjoy it.]
[Um. UM. Aoi shifts the cub around in his lap, trying to figure out how he should be holding him before he takes the bottle.]
He should be right-side up, right? Not on his back?
[THIS IS A LOT OF PRESSURE. Murder games, NBD. Feeding a hungry baby tiger, the heat is on. There are so many issues that can take root early on if an infant doesn't have secure attachments to its caregivers...probably. Aoi knows a lot of dumb snippets of psychological research, but he's no animal specialist.
He reaches for the bottle, giving Atsushi a wide-eyed HELP ME look. Don't let Aoi stunt this baby's growth.]
[Aoi takes the blanket distractedly and pushes it under the cub. Usually his pants would give him a little protection from sharp feline claws, but he's only got a pair of swim trunks today.
Aoi holds the bottle to Daifuku's mouth and the tiger knows the drill. He starts feeding himself and Aoi mostly just holds the bottle at the right height and angle. Aoi looks to Atsushi for confirmation.]
So, is this little guy your first pet, or did you have any back home?
[Is he trying to be funny? Probably. Some jokes require more guts than he has, though.]
Making up for lost time... [He thinks about that for a moment.] It's not as if I chose to get a pet, but I am enjoying taking care of Daifuku a lot. Even if it's a lot of work...
[He admits the latter a little shamefully. Hard to deny how much time and effort the cub has required, though.]
This place has given me a lot of options that I never had before. I don't know if it's making up for lost time, but... I do feel like I can grow more as a person, with the chances I'm given.
Maybe I'll become a responsible adult yet! [Definitely joking - and anything but.]
I think he's good for you, even if you didn't choose him. Life's way worse when you're all alone, even if taking care of somebody else means you have to work harder.
[He smirks at Atsushi.]
It means you'll have to leave your wild party days behind you, though. I know that's a pretty hard blow for you.
[Life is worse when you're alone... Atsushi wasn't alone at the Armed Detective Agency, but he wasn't together with anyone either - not until Kyouka started living with him. He really misses her... They'd both been through so much.
And now she was gone. Daifuku may not be the same, but he makes for a good distraction, and a nice thing for Atsushi to pour his energy into.]
I don't know how I'll manage!
[His wild party days... Haha. It's not like he ever wanted that kind of life, but somehow it's still a little embarrassing that he never got the chance to live it.]
Well, we're still having a pretty nice party, here.
Intro Log # 2, Atsushi
Me? Uh, it's been a while since I did something like that...
[He'd probably helped feed his baby sister, but that was when Aoi was only 3 or 4 and his mom had supervised. What if he screws this up?]
Maybe you should do it. A baby's nutrition is important.

Just try it. If it doesn't work, I'll take over.

[And so Atsushi does, grabbing an old and slightly clawed-up blanket, and sticking it, folded up as it is, against Aoi's leg, near Daifuku's head.]
He likes to push with his paws while he drinks, so just in case...
[A blanket for protection works miracles, Atsushi has found.]

[Aoi takes the blanket distractedly and pushes it under the cub. Usually his pants would give him a little protection from sharp feline claws, but he's only got a pair of swim trunks today.

(no subject)
Oh no, I never had pets... Well, the orphanage had chickens? But I don't think that really counts, even if they were sort of cute.
[Before he ate them. You know, the usual.]
Did you have pets?
(no subject)
Nah, I didn't have time. I had a person to take care of. Couldn't worry about some helpless animal.
[What Atsushi's said confirms the picture Aoi has in his mind about the other's childhood.]
...So it's like you're making up for lost time now.
